Each project below is delivered with woreda government offices, farmer organisations and a funding partner. Every one of them combines livelihoods work with natural resource management, because that is how rural households actually live.
Dodota Integrated Livelihood Security & Biodiversity Conservation
ASDA's longest-running programme area, combining household livelihood security with conservation of the park biodiversity that surrounds the communities of Dodota Woreda.
Community-Based Participatory Integrated Watershed Development
Communities in Mojana Wodera plan and build the soil and water conservation structures across their own watersheds, then manage the reclaimed land collectively.
“My Life My Choice”
A youth-focused project giving young women and men in North Shewa a genuine economic choice at home, through organised enterprise and skills.
Together for Change — Social Accountability in Public Service Delivery
Community members, government and civil society work through the same forum to improve the public services people actually receive, using tools such as theatre for social accountability and participatory video.
Earlier projects include community-based natural resource management and park conservation around the Dhera Block of the Arsi Mountains National Park, funded by the Arsi Bale Rural Development Programme of the Italian Development Cooperation, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture in Kindo Koiysha Woreda, Wolayita Zone.
